Tierra Retreat Center was hands down the best venue we could have imagined for our wedding weekend. We were looking for a place where we could celebrate over a full weekend and not just an evening – a place where we could bring friends and family together from different walks of our lives and spend time together without all of the noise and stress of everyday life. We were not looking for anything flashy and we loved the idea of being tucked away in the woods, but Tierra exceeded our expectations. The flexibility and freedom to use Tierra the way we wanted meant that we were able to curate the perfect wedding weekend that worked for our personalities and our needs. We took full advantage of all of the facilities – breakfasts in the lodge, a lawn game night in the meadow, getting ready in the conference rooms and the yurt, a first look in the woods, ceremony in the amphitheater, and cocktails and dancing on the lodge deck. Because of the natural beauty of the location, we were able to keep decor to a minimum – and many of the items we used were from Tierra’s storage closet itself, allowing us to save money for the things that truly mattered. The suites are far from flashy, and they turned out to be perfect for our “adult summer camp” weekend. We had friends who had previously refused to even consider camping suddenly express interest in the outdoors, and others who continue to rave about how it was the best weekend of their lives. This is no doubt due to the gorgeous surroundings and the incredible venue itself.
Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how warm, inviting, thoughtful, relaxing, and all-around wonderful Jen was in the entire process leading up to, and throughout our wedding weekend. The process of locking down the dates, asking for pictures of storage items, or going through form and payment details leading up to the weekend, Jen was extremely easy to communicate with. Her laid-back energy matched Tierra’s vibe so well that from beginning to end, we felt right at home. Thank you so much to Tierra and to Jen for helping to make our wedding weekend so magical.
A beautiful space for a wedding. It was so fun to photograph this space because there are so many options for images. I love the views of the amphitheater and the lavender in the lower areas. It's all just so wonderful!!
If you want a laid-back, community-oriented, and naturally beautiful place to get married, this is the place to be. The people are wonderful to work with. And between the lodge, the field, the suites, and the amphitheater, you can create an event that caters exactly to your style. Thanks, Tierra, for hosting the most memorable weekend of our lives!
One word: Carla. She is a national treasure and should be protected at all costs. I went there for a weeklong course and she cooked 3 meals a day for our group every day, each one was absolutely amazing and you can tell she loves doing what she does. Totally down to earth, and just a good person. So yeah, Carla gets all the stars.
Terrible venue without LIGHTS on roads. Was at a event that lasted until dark and upon leaving, no one could see the roads and there was no sign leading to the main street. It's very dangerous.
Edit/Reply to Owner: Please go take a look yourself at night time. There's NO LIGHT on the trail leading to the main road. You also FAILED to put up EXIT signs along the trail which are very IMPORTANT for drivers who have never been there. You have no idea how much EXIT signs on trees could help and flags/markers could also help as well. SAFETY should be your #1 and ONLY priority.
